On the surface many moving companies may look the same. Our commitment to provide the highest quality service distinguishes our company from many others.

Entrepreneur Barry Blake created the Blake & Sons Moving & Storage Company in 1990, intending for his two sons to run the business after he retried. When the time came, Barry’s sons were working elsewhere, leaving him looking for a buyer. Thomas Shioutakon was just that man. Only 21 years old at the time, Tom had experience with the moving and storage business because his father had also owned and operated a local company for many years. When he bought Blake & Sons from Barry in 1995, the company had steady, but limited business, only in possession of two moving vans and a couple of employees. Since then, the company has expanded; Blake & Sons now boasts a fleet of twelve moving vans, and dozens of professional employees. Despite growth, Barry’s dream of a family run moving and storage business remains alive in the company he founded, as two of Tom’s sisters are currently office managers. Two decades of work in the moving and storage business has shown substantial growth and change in the industry, but below are some things about our company that will never change…

Our ultimate goal is to make your relocation process a positive experience. We will accomplish this goal by understanding your needs, evaluating the available options, and professionally performing the services required to meet those needs.

Our personnel is our best feature. We employ high quality, “full-time” staffers and provide them with the most thorough training available in the industry. All of our crews are prompt, courteous and neatly uniformed.

Our fleet consists of modern, fully equipped trucks, which are maintained “in-house” to insure safety, reliability and cleanliness. They are restocked and reorganized daily.

Our greatest distinguishing factor is the amount of referral business that we do. Presently 84% of our business is based on referrals. This is a direct reflection of customer satisfaction, which we consider to be our #1 priority.
