Richter and Company, Inc. distributes fresh produce throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. We are a third-generation, family-owned business that began more than 80 years ago. Today, we are one of the world’s largest peach distributors and a major Vidalia onion shipper. Bell peppers are a thriving business, too, with large crops in the spring and fall. Our sweet potatoes, introduced in 2012, have gained favor with retailers nationwide, and in early 2014 we welcomed our first tomato grower.
Today, Richter is known as a “Family of Farms,” a trademark that developed out of our close and personal relationships with growers going back for generations. As exclusive sales agents, we are an extension of them. Our customer relationships transcend decades. It is not uncommon for us to have 30, 40, 50 or even 60 years of service to our customers. Some have been with us since the company began.
