Het Amsterdams Lyceum Company Information
General information
Het Amsterdams Lyceum is het oudste lyceum van Nederland. De school werd in 1917 gesticht door Dr. C. P. Gunning (1886-1960), een fervent voorstander van het toen nieuwe schooltype "lyceum", waarin gymnasium en HBS verenigd werden. Gunning bleef als eerste rector in functie tot 1952. Zijn humanistische levensvisie verklaart de keuze voor de algemeen bijzondere grondslag van onze school.
