General information

La politique d'exposition du Centre d'Art comporte une ligne directrice principale, à savoir les rapports entre écriture et image, entre art et graphie.
Cette thématique se traduit, entre autres, par l'accueil d’œuvres d'illustrateurs, d'auteurs de bandes dessinées ou encore de graphistes et publicistes.
A cette ligne directrice s'ajoutent deux pôles complémentaires:
- la mise à l'honneur d'artistes belges ou de mouvements artistiques belges par le biais de rétrospectives scientifiques
- la promotion de la création contemporaine via, entre autres, le Prix Découverte, concours bisannuel qui vise la découverte et la promotion de talents artistiques prometteurs.

Het tentoonstellingsbeleid van het Kunstcentrum legt de klemtoon op het verband tussen schrift en beeld, tussen kunst en grafie. Deze thematiek treedt, onder andere, naar voor in de exposities van het oeuvre van illustratoren, auteurs van stripverhalen of grafisten en publicisten.
Daarnaast wil het Kunstcentrum eveneens, via wetenschappelijke retrospectieven, de aandacht vestigen op Belgische kunstenaars of Belgische artistieke bewegingen en ten slotte hedendaagse creaties promoten, onder meer door de "Prix Découverte", een tweejaarlijkse wedstrijd die zich als doel stelt veelbelovend artistiek talent te ontdekken en te promoten.

The Red Cloister Center of art is centered on relations between writing and Image as well as between art and graphics. Thus, we are welcoming works of various illustrators, comic books authors, graphic designers and publicists.
Furthermore, we are aiming for:

° Highlighting Belgian artists and Belgian artistic movements through scientifical retrospective.
° Contemporary art promotion via, amongst others, “le Prix Découverte”, biennial competition which seeks for new promising artists.
