About us
Le Choisel is run by sisters, Caroline Murphy and Angela Birchall, who moved to Normandy from England in December 2014.

We have turned this traditional Norman farmhouse into a holiday venue where we can host a variety of tutored holidays and day courses:

Caroline is combining her extensive knowledge from 30 years in the international wine and spirits industry with her passion for international cuisine gained from travels in Europe and the Middle East, to host our wine tasting and food and wine matching courses.

Angela’s career and passions have combined art and design with factual and creative writing, and she will be leading courses in painting, drawing and creative writing as well as giving formal tuition on the English language immersion courses.

Central base to explore Normandy
Le Choisel is also an ideal central base from which to explore Normandy’s rich heritage of history, arts, culture and cuisine. This spacious farmhouse with stunning panoramic views of the Normandy countryside, is situated near the medieval town of Domfront in northwest France.

The entire farmhouse can be booked as a self-catering gite, or rooms can be selected on chambres d’hôte (B&B) basis. Guests can relax in and around the farmhouse, and enjoy Le Choisel’s gardens and woodland paths down to the stream “Ruisseau de Choisel”.

Ideal for solo women travellers
Having travelled extensively on both business and pleasure trips, we appreciate the issues faced by women travelling alone, so we wanted to make sure Le Choisel was particularly welcoming for them, and we do not charge single supplements.

Ideal for walking or cycling enthusiasts
Le Choisel is close to the Voie Verte (Green Route) that is part of the 450km route from Paris to Mont Saint Michel.
