SOCARENAM is a French shipyard specialized in the construction of all types of ships up to 110 meters long. Our shipyard is based in 5 different sites, Boulogne-Sur-Mer, Calais, Dunkirk, Saint-Malo and Etaples.
SOCARENAM has had a well-established reputation for more than 50 years as the company has always met its clients’ orders with professionalism, adapting products in response to specific needs.
SOCARENAM has signed prestigious contracts over the past few years thanks to the professionalism and skills of its employees. The SOCARENAM team is composed of more than 200 people, engineers, skilled technicians and certified workers accredited by an inspection body.
More than 250 vessels, fully built and fitted out by SOCARENAM, have already left our workshops. SOCARENAM shipyard provides skills and know-how which allow the shipyard to take its place among national and international market.

History:
SO.CA.RE.NA.M. (Société Calaisienne de Réparation Navale et Mécanique ) was created in 1961 in Calais by The “Société Navale Caennaise” company for repair works and maintenance operations on their own fleet.
SOCARENAM was set up in 1969 on a famous shipbuilding site in Boulogne-Sur-Mer named “Les chantiers BAHEUX”, a riveted steel Shipbuilder created at the end of 19th century, and specialized in steel fishing boats.
In 1973, in response to strong ship repair activity, SOCARENAM developed a third site in the eastern port of Dunkirk.
In 1989, The “Société Navale Caennaise” decided to develop subsidiaries. An employee buyout was organized and from that date, the company has been owned by senior management and employees.
In 2009, SOCARENAM seized the opportunity to diversify its range of fabrication by buying “Gamelin” Shipyard based in Saint-Malo and specialized in aluminium construction.
In 2014, SOCARENAM established a new site in Etaples, historically recognized for its marine culture and its ancient shipyards. This last site allows SOCARENAM to respond to market segment concerning smaller boat up to 16 meters long.
