Nées de la fusion des caves coopératives d'Agde et de Marseillan, réunissant 450 viticulteurs, les caves Richemer perpétuent la tradition du premier port du bassin de Thau, réputé pour ses vins blancs que l'on boit avec les huîtres, et ses rosés de terrasse.
Elles doivent leur nom à une légende : Henri Richet, vigneron de Marseillan qui aurait fait fortune grâce au commerce maritime avec le négoce des vins, notamment le vermouth. Bien vite on l'aurait surnommé Henri de Richemer
The Richemer wine cellars began with the fusion of both the cooperative winery in Agde and Marseillan, gathering 450 wine-makers and maintaining the tradition of being the first port in the Thau Basin. The latter is renowned for its white wines – perfect with oysters - and its rosés - ideal when relaxing on a terrace.
They all owe their name to a legend, Henri Richet, a Marseillan wine-maker who apparently became very rich from the sea borne wine trade, especially with the vermouth. Henri de Richemer very soon became an adopted name.
