Rekom Biotech is a biotechnology company focused on the design and production of validated biomarkers for human and animal infectious diseases. Its products aimed at the in vitro diagnostic industry are versatile recombinant antigens which can be used as high quality raw material for the production of diagnostic tests by using different platforms, among others: second and third generation ELISAs, immunochromatography, chemiluminescence, Western blot, dot-blot, etc.

Our biomarkers are recombinant antigens produced in different expression systems. Our main aim is the optimisation of the antigenicity and the reduction of potential specificity problems. In order to reach this goal, we validate the antigen immunoreactivity towards specimen sera.

Rekom Biotech also offers R&D support services for IVD manufacturers that want to develop a new assay and cannot find the right raw material. We develop gene amplification and expression services, optimisation-expression studies, culture scale-up in bioreactors by using a fed-batch mode, process development strategies, downstream processing and immunologic studies by using Western Blot and ELISA assays.
