General information

The Vista Alegre porcelain factory was founded in 1824, in Ílhavo, central Portugal, born from the dream of a visionary Portuguese gentleman.

More than 175 years later, through a route that has produced a vast portfolio of products closely associated with the history and cultural life of Europe, a merger took place between the Vista Alegre and the Atlantis companies, forming the largest national tableware and giftware group, and one of the largest in the industry worldwide: the Vista Alegre Atlantis Group.

Nowadays, the branded pieces - always at the forefront of innovation and design – are featured at the tables of the most prominent personalities as well as several embassies and other institutions and state or individual organizations, being also represented in several international museums. Harmoniously combining tradition and modernity, Vista Alegre Atlantis continues to invest in partnerships with international designers and artists, young or already established, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of the art of porcelain and crystal.

The invitation to some of the foremost designers takes place regularly. The artists that helped define the unique character of Vista Alegre Atlantis include Christian Lacroix, Oscar de La Renta, Marcel Wanders, Karim Rashid, Bartek Mejor, Sam Baron, Carsten Gollnick, David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem, Joana Vasconcelos, Eduardo Nery, Pedro Calapez, , Nadir Afonso, Armanda Passos, Roberto Chichorro, Christian Ghion, Teresa Lima and João Vaz de Carvalho, among many others.
