For effectively doing research, we need enthusiastic people caring about conservation and willing to help with the fieldwork. Tethys’ two ongoing long term projects, one in Italy and France, and one in Greece, have been conceived as citizen science projects: non-specialists are a valuable help for researchers in the field and their support is essential. Nevertheless no particular skills, nor scientific or nautical experience are required to participants: it takes only good will and enthusiasm to make a difference. And it is an amazing experience of a lifetime!
