General information

All the different aspects of our work are aimed at trying to engage with this very hard to reach group and then to support them to think about who they are, who they want to be and what changes they need to make in their lives to begin to realise their aspirations:

INTENSIVE SUPPORT
Our intensive support programme aims to engage with hard to reach individuals and offer the appropriate support so that they can begin to make positive changes in their lives. This generally means motivational work, and support with managing the changes our clients will experience as well as more practical support around the specific issues faced. As we aim to support those who find engaging with services particularly challenging progress can be slow. However, our vision is to remain dedicated to these individuals and keep changing our approach until we find a way of working that supports each individual positively.

STREET OUTREACH WORK
Through the day times and some evenings workers go out onto the streets with the objective of meeting rootless and homeless individuals. There are several purposes to this:

Engage with individuals who we do not know
Offer a supportive and caring relationship
Stay in touch with regular clients
Sign-post into mainstream services
Assess who needs our intensive support

WEEKLY SOUP-RUN
The Soup-Runs go out on a Tuesday evening in Leeds. The purpose of the Soup-Run is to take out food and drink to those who will be sleeping rough that night. Although these aspects of the work are important the most important part of the project is to have contact with our service users, to show them we are there for them and offer support with making changes in their lives when they are ready to make them. Also by being out in the evening we can offer the practical support of referring people to emergency accommodation when the need arises.
