St. Andrews Farmhouse Cheese

General information

Our family have been local farmers in the East Neuk of Fife since the 1930s. Since that time, farming methods have modernised, but our core values remain the same. We farm using traditional methods to ensure that the grass grows lush and green, the crops yield as good a crop as the Scottish weather will allow, and our happy, healthy cows produce top quality milk.

Today we have a herd of 200 home bred Friesian Holstein cows, and they graze the lush green pastures overlooking the Firth of Forth. As well as excellent grass, our farm also grows wheat, barley and oilseed rape.

We started to make cheese in January 2008, and opened our Coffee shop in May of that same year.
Today, you can visit the farm and watch the cheese being made through our Viewing Gallery windows (cheesemaking days can vary, but are usually Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Our Coffee shop is open 7 days a week, always serving delicious, freshly prepared meals, snacks and home baking. Why not relax with a cheeseboard (choice of cheeses with homemade cheese scones, oatcakes and chutney), and perhaps a glass of wine, whilst you take in the panoramic views down towards the sea! On a clear day, you can see right across the water to North Berwick and beyond.

Our small shop sells chutneys, oatcakes, biscuits and jams, and a small selection of gifts – everything you need to accompany your cheese! We also have artwork by local artists.
Our cheese counter offers our own, award winning cheese (of course!), but did you know that there are now around 30 artisan cheesemakers in Scotland? Many of the cheeses that they make are also on offer in our shop.
