General information

Travelworld Motorhomes has been serving the Motorhome community in the UK one way or another for over 30 years. Our limited company name came from our original involvement in the American Motorhome industry in the late 1970s. This was around the first time ‘RV’s’ had been seen in the UK and Travelworld not only imported but had part ownership in Travel Cruiser American Motorhomes a manufacturer of C and A class RV’s.

Motorhome Manufacturing

In the early 1980s, to supplement the involvement in America, Travelworld became main agents for Volkswagen Westfalia Motorhomes from Germany. By the mid 1980s Travelworld had moved into manufacturing in the UK with two seperate plants – Diamond Motorcaravans, based in Leighton Buzzard and Pioneer Motorcaravans based in Hull , both manufacturing coachbuilt & VW van conversions.

Also during this period Travelworlds involvement with America altered dramatically when Travel Cruiser was bought out by GULF STREAM COACH, a large recreational vehicle manufacturer. This was the start of a long and extremely rewarding relationship.

Gulf Stream Dealer

Travelworld became a full line Gulf Stream dealer, importing many ‘Sun Sports’ & ‘Sun Voyagers’ and other models. Due to the success of the Gulf Stream relationship Travelworld became a purely American dealer, and went about monopolising the American RV market in Britain , with sales of Gulf Streams all through the 1980s and 1990s.

Largest American RV Dealer In UK

During this time, the competition increased dramatically in Britain , and by 1994 we took the industry a stage further by becoming a full line dealer for MONACO COACH CORPORATION, one of the largest high line coach manufacturers in the world. Throughout the 2000′s Travelworld became recognised as a specialist of high quality motorhomes and imported some of the highest valued vehicles even seen on the UK market. They also became factory appointed agents for factories as diverse as Newmar, Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler, Coachmen & Forest River. Travelworld not only became the largest American RV dealer in the UK it became the largest stockist outside of North America.

Diversification

Today Travelworld have diversified into the main stream UK motorhome market, offering one of the largest and most varied display of Motorhomes in the UK! Having been appointed the sole UK importer for Niesmann + Bischoff in 2009, and also taking on franchise from the factories of Auto Trail and Chausson the same year, Travelworld now offers brands from four different countries and four different segments of the market!

Hymer Franchise

We were extremely proud to be awarded the Hymer franchise in 2011 and have quickly applied substantial resource to make this brand our focus for the future. Working closely with the factory it was decided Travelworld would become the UK Centre of Excellence and market the brand name ‘Hymer UK’
Even during the incredibly difficult period the Motorhome industry has been through Travel world has never stopped investing in its facilities, staff & customer services. We currently have one of the largest motorhome showrooms in Europe covering 30,000sqft set in four acres of practically landscaped dealership space.

Travel world’s large purpose built service centre offers you the complete range of motorhome / RV servicing facilities – with factory trained technicians and manufacturer authorisation. Within our ten bay service centre we carryout extensive service, preparation, rectification and warranty work and make customer service our primary goal.
