General information

The Norwich Church of England Young Men's Society (more widely recognised as CEYMS), is a sports and leisure complex providing recreation for gentlemen aged 16 years and upwards. We welcome people of all faiths.

The Society was founded over 170 years ago and its objective was to 'to promote the welfare of its members spiritually, socially, intellectually and physically; and to aid missions at home and abroad'. Today the Society's city centre leisure headquarters is situated in Brigg Street, Norwich. This accommodation houses a squash court, table tennis room, two weight training areas, three snooker tables and a snack bar.

The rooms are are open from 7.00am until 10.00pm on weekdays and until 2.00pm on Saturdays. The annual membership fee is £50 for adults and £25 for those under 18. Guests of members will be welcome on six occasions in total for a small fee, after which they will be encouraged to join. Under normal circumstances guests are not permitted within the weight training areas. For further details, or to view the facilities please feel free to contact us. The Society's spacious playing fields are at Swardeston where we share the facilities with Lakenham Hewett Rugby Club, and provide pitches for cricket and football. CEYMS is represented in local leagues at cricket, footbal and table tennis.
