The Ratchet Shop is a family-run business that has been selling high quality construction goods for over 10 years. The business was first set up in 1999 by husband and wife Paul and Ann Totman.

Paul Totman started in the industry with his own demolition company working all over the UK and became one of the largest and most well respected men in his field. On becoming frustrated by the ever-increasing amounts of paperwork he decided to switch his business interests to retail. With his wealth of knowledge of construction and his trusted name he was able to establish an impressive range of products which are all correctly tested, certified and guaranteed.

In the last few years the business has become such a big success with ever increasing clients and sales that Paul and Ann’s children are now a large part of the company and are striving to push the business into the future which we believe is largely on the internet. This has given Paul and Ann the opportunity to work at trade shows all across the country so that they can finally meet their customers face to face and get the chance to listen to feedback so that we can make sure were always making our customers happy and moving in the right direction.

As our business continues to develop and diversify with a wide range of lifting, lashing and safety products, our distributor network is also growing rapidly.

Our products are now becoming available in new markets throughout the world; the ratchet shop is constantly expanding and selling into more and more European countries every year. With a large client base in Ireland we decided to launch an Irish website which is going extremely well.
