Southport Soup Kitchen Company Information
General information
Southport Soup Kitchen was formed approximately 12 years ago. We are not affiliated to any church or organisation but work closely with others in the area.
The number of rough sleepers in Southport varies but there are many more who are not strictly homeless but live a precarious existence, staying with friends or in rented accommodation and trying to survive on a low income. In recent years we have found that a wide cross-section of people are now using our facilities : migrant workers, those affected by benefit changes, young families etc.
While several churches offer free sandwiches and a hot drink the Soup Kitchen is the only place in Southport where people can sit down, eat their food and meet their friends. We provide hot food and a chance to relax in a community without being asked to move on.
Our volunteers serve all our visitors with respect and courtesy.
We are open from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
