Macduff Shellfish is a specialist processor of wild Scottish shellfish and the largest independent shellfish processor in the UK. Based in in the North East of Scotland, to the north of Aberdeen, we specialise in a variety of shellfish species. Our products are available in a range of size formats, both raw and cooked, to suit customer and market requirements.

At Macduff Shellfish we produce wild, fresh products in their natural form. We don’t use flavourings or sauces to disguise low quality product. Raw or cooked, our product quality is outstanding because our supplies are outstanding.

We process 6 main species: langoustines (also known as prawns or scampi), king scallops, queen scallops, brown crabs, velvet crabs, and whelks. From those six shellfish, there are over 340 different variations of finished product, individually tailored to different customer specifications.

Quality of the end product doesn’t just depend on the raw materials. The correct handling and processing of shellfish is vital.

In October 2015, Macduff Shellfish was acquired by Canadian company Clearwater Seafoods, bringing together two of the world's leading wild shellfish harvesters.
