Hunters Brewery

General information

Established in September 2008, Hunter’s Brewery, Ipplepen, is situated in the heart of the Teignbridge countryside, in Beautiful Devon.

Why did I set up a brewery?
It all started after a bad week at work. I began to seriously think about this long held dream of becoming a master brewer and starting a micro-brewery. For many months I investigated buying existing brewery’s, but I soon realised that I would be happier starting my own with my stamp on it.

So how did I get into brewing?
Well my back ground is varied, I started my career in production engineering and more recently worked in the Sales industry, however I found I was constantly away from home and my family and I had enough of the corporate life, I needed to follow my dreams…
The rest as they say is history, I found premises on a local farm in our village that needed a total make over . Next, a lot of hard work and help from friends and people in the community and we were ready to get started. The kit was purchased from and installed by Moss Brew and I got stuck into the experimental stage. This went very well and successfully I developed my main lines which are all detailed in on the other side and on our website.

Hunter’s Brewery principles?
My aims are to keep Hunter's Ale local to Devon to reduce ale miles, keep delivery costs down to a minimum and sustain the Local economy.
I strive to produce quality real ales this is achieved by using only the finest grade A materials whilstkeeping costs to a minimum. I hope you enjoy sampling the produce of my Brewery and if you want to find out more about the brewery, beers, myself and my family please visit
