Low Alwinton Cottages are a collection of classic stone built cottages and Scandinavian log cabins in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland National Park. We offer a variety of self catering accommodation to suit every guest's needs, from the luxury 5 Star Byre Cottage, to our charming 4 star stone built cottages Coquet and Cheviot, or our cosy Scandinavian style log cabins. We are situated 11 miles West of Rothbury in the beautiful Coquet Valley, the perfect location for a holiday in an area renowned for its beauty and rich wildlife.

Nestled between Harbottle Forest and the banks of the river Coquet, Low Alwinton Cottages lies in an area home to an abundance of British wildlife including red squirrels, otters and black lizards. The wildlife in the areas around the cottages is one of the most rich and varied in the whole of England. We are also situated inside the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, the largest Dark Sky Park in Europe and home to the darkest skies in England. This makes Low Alwinton Cottages the perfect location for viewing the night sky and a fantastic holiday destination for anyone interested in astronomy or stargazing.

Walking and rambling for all abilities begins at the cottage door with a leisurely stroll along the river bank or a more energetic hike to discover the beauty and open space of the Cheviot Hills. Keen anglers can take advantage of the challenging fishing in the river Coquet quite literally metres from the cottages.

Pets are welcome in all of our cottages with the exception of Byre Cottage.
