General information
The first tennis court at Hampton Court was built for Cardinal Wolsey, between 1526 and 1529. There has been a tennis court on the current site since 1625, which was built for Charles I. Three of the walls on the court today date to the 17th Century, the other being Cardinal Wolsey's orginal.
Today the court is home to a thriving club with over 500 members, and is open and in use from 7am to 11pm every day of the year, except Christmas Day.
