General information

Dr. Terri Holloway is an experienced nutritionist who specialises in
researching the effects of meat-reduced diets. Her passion for this subject
began with a health incident which inspired her to research alternative
forms of disease-prevention and develop techniques for reducing the
likelihood of disease recurrences within high-risk populations.

Following her personal journey of research and dietary discovery, Terri
went on to earn a PhD in Nutritional Sciences, from the University of
Nottingham’s School of Biosciences. During her doctoral training, she
conducted in depth interventions in which she analysed consumer barriers
toward reducing meat-intake in addition to the most effective mechanisms
for dietary behaviour change.

The conclusion of her combined studies suggests that a well-planned,
meat-reduced diet should decrease the risk of developing cardiovascular
disease risk factors and that with sustained support, a group of healthy
individuals can reduce meat intake by a minimum of 50% without impacting
body weight or composition or negatively effecting well-being.

Terri also holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration
in Management. She has taught Business Communications courses and has
travelled internationally presenting her findings on the benefits of
Plant-based nutrition. Terri now plans to incorporate her knowledge and
experiences into the creation of SwapMeat Ltd. and hopes that many will
benefit from her services.
