Le Conversation Club - King's Cross

General information

Once upon a time a teacher who was unhappy with where she worked and fed up with not making any progress in Chinese decided to put together her ideal language school. That's how Le Conversation Club was created.

We are a language conversation school, conveniently located within 5 minute walk from major tube stations. That’s the EkiMae concept! We are based in Angel, in Islington, but we also have schools in Tottenham Court Road and King’s Cross.

We offer English, French and Japanese lessons.

*English (EFL)
We offer 1 hour lessons (well technically 50 minutes with a short break) at 4 different levels. We make you speak (at least 2/3 of the time), correct your mistakes and focus on a grammar or vocabulary issue (typically prepositions and phrasal verbs! Your favourites :p) in each lesson. We don't use textbooks we believe practice makes perfect. If the story of someone who has moved to London and hoped to improve their English, but they don't have the time to sounds all too familiar, then sign up for one of our packages, and choose when and where you want to have a lesson.

*French and Japanese
We offer 2 hours of French or Japanese once a week. Levels range from complete beginner to intermediate. Our focus is on fluency regardless of your level. Lessons start at 5.30pm, 6.30pm, or 7.30pm depending on the location and the day on weekdays. There is an average of 4 students per class.
Every 4 weeks, lessons takes place in a lovely French épicerie or café if you’re learning French, or an authentic Japanese sushi bar or a kissaten 喫茶店 if you are studying Japanese. You’ll then be able to practice what you’ve learned with your classmates but also with shop owners and waiting staff. The rest of the time we are in a regular classroom.
