General information

Clarkes Blacksmithing is a blacksmithing company set up by Chester Clarke. I am a blacksmiths who loves to design and create beautiful metalwork. Being a blacksmith my specialism lies in hot forged metal, manipulated by hammer and anvil, using techniques that have been developed over thousands of years. I temper these traditional techniques with modern metalworking practices to produce a variety of elegant, bespoke pieces.

During my years of training I have both developed a strong affinity with the principles of the Arts and Crafts movement. I am in favour of the ideal that if you make something functional you should not hesitate to make it beautiful. This principle has enabled me to create a variety of objects that are both functional and striking. Great Britain has a wealthy history of wrought ironwork and I enjoy contributing to it.

All work is carried out with the customers needs in mind, from Decorative Iron Work to General Fabrication, I always ensure that all of my work is carried out with the utmost professionalism and to the highest standards as I pride myself on keeping my customers happy and delivering their requirements.

​I have a well equipped workshop with facilites to weld with mig, tig, stick and gas, also milling, drilling, turning, press work, etc.
Steelwork can be finished to your requirements, finishes include galvanizing, powder coating,wet spraying. hand painted, beeswaxed, etc.
Most of the things I make are made to order and to customers specific needs. I offer a delivery / fitting / installation service where required.

Why not pay a visit during the opening times of 10am to 5pm every day except weekends. The forge is on sandpit lane in the Vale of Belvoir village of Long Clawson after which you can enjoy a stroll and take in the fresh air and stunning scenery.
