West Bay is a hub of activity in the summer. Holiday makers and day trippers having fun on the beaches or strolling around the harbour watching the comings and goings of the boats. Maybe just sitting, relaxing, enjoying an ice cream or a pint of the local beer. All with a view of the breath-taking golden sandstone cliffs. In the winter it is quieter, sometimes almost deserted, but just as magical.
Just up the road is Bridport, a lively market town nestled amongst Dorset hills, with many independent shops and a twice weekly street market as well as monthly vintage and farmer's markets. It’s the ideal place to browse, shop and stop to eat. Bridport has a flourishing arts scene and a quirky, relaxed vibe.
West Bay is a great base for exploring West Dorset. The world famous Jurassic Coast, pretty little harbours, lovely beaches, sleepy villages, bustling market towns, glorious rolling countryside and fascinating historical sites. Fabulous local food and drink. Absorb its history, heritage and natural beauty.
