What exactly is Counselling?
It's the opportunity to talk with someone without being judged or criticized for your thoughts and beliefs. The Counsellor will assist you in exploring the issues that concern you to help you find better understanding and awareness. Our experiences throughout life shape and form our thinking and behaviour and often we can learn a great deal about ourselves and others by becoming more aware. Counselling is not always, but should be a solution focussed therapy, looking at the clients' wants and needs and helping to find change and progress towards goals and achievements.
A Counsellor is trained to use varying methods and techniques to assist clients, and there are many different styles of counselling available, but of utmost importance is finding the right Counsellor for you, someone with whom you feel comfortable and free to talk with and trust, and with that in mind I offer a 50 minute, free of charge appointment whereby both Counsellor and Client have the opportunity to discuss the goals of therapy and how they should proceed.
