General information

Just like me toys is the home for black and other ethnic dolls. The place to find beautiful baby dolls just for you. We specialise in good quality dolls and accessories for children. Our dolls are sourced and commissioned from specialist doll manufacturers and designers.

We are an exciting young company who is interested in ensuring that children of African origin see images of themselves in the products/tools they interact with from an early age. We believe that if children cannot see themselves, they will not feel represented in the toy market as it currently is, and in society as a whole. By giving parents and children a choice, we hope to normalise the images of black children, by making them visible within the society in which they are growing up.

The business is the brainchild of Monica Smith who is a primary school teacher, with specialism in early childhood education. Working with young children as I do, I am aware of their ability to absorb information fed them at a rapid rate. If they are fed negativity, they become negative, and likewise, if they fed positivity, they become positive human beings.

It is the intention of Just Like Me Toys to create a society in which African children can feel validated.
