General information
Special Olympics Deutschland e.V. wurde am 3. Oktober 1991 gegründet. Die Sportorganisation ist seit 2007 als Verband mit besonderen Aufgaben dem Deutschen Olympischen Sportbund (DOSB) angehörig. Special Olympics Deutschland wird ehrenamtlich von einem Präsidium geführt und unterhält eine nationale Geschäftsstelle in Berlin.
Zu Special Olympics Deutschland gehören heute ca. 40.000 Menschen, die in 14 Landesverbänden organisiert sind.
