General information
His fascination with foreign countries and other cultures repeatedly inspired Hans L. Dillenburger to travel to far-off lands and, in 1960, took him around Southeast Asia and to Japan.
In Japan, John L. Dillenburger met his future wife, Yukie Demiya. Together, the couple developed a concept for exporting Japanese cultured pearls. First, they founded an import/export company in Japan, which was shortly followed by an equally important company in Merzig, in the heart of Europe.
1964: D&M Pearl Co. Ltd. is founded in Tokyo, Japan.
1974: D&M Pearl Co. Ltd. Tokyo becomes member number 147 of “Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association”. To become a member of this illustrious association, candidates must satisfy a minimum number of export consignments per annum and also have to be recommended by the two senior members of the association.
