Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group – Social Media Community Guidelines

Thank you for being a fan of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) and joining our external online social media communities. Our goal is to create external online communities in which global fans can share their MOHG experiences and learn more about MOHG’s collection of hotels, resorts, residences and other products and services MOHG may promote, including food and beverage offerings, spas, conferencing, travel services, fashion and more. In uploading or transmitting photos, video and/or comments or any other material to MOHG’s external social media accounts (“Content”), you acknowledge and agree with the following:

1. MOHG has the worldwide right, without charge, to use and reproduce the Content in all and any media, including, but not limited to, MOHG’s online and printed publications, presentations, promotional materials and in the advertising of MOHG goods or services.
2. MOHG’s external social media accounts are environments for constructive dialogue. As such, all participants must maintain respect for the opinions and experiences expressed by MOHG and other participants. Participants must only use MOHG’s external social media accounts for lawful purposes and must not: post any Content that infringes or violates someone else's rights or otherwise violates any applicable local, national or international law or regulation; post anyone’s identification documents or sensitive financial information; knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
3. Participants must at all times comply with the following standards when posting any Content on MOHG’s external social media accounts. Contributions must: be accurate (where they state facts); be genuinely held (where they state opinions); comply with applicable law in Hong Kong and in any country from which they are posted. Contributions must not: contain any material which is defamatory of any person; contain any material which is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory; promote sexually explicit material; promote violence; promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; infringe any copyright, database right or trade mark of any other person; be likely to deceive any person; be made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence; promote any illegal activity; be threatening, abuse or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety; be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person; be used to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person; give the impression that they emanate from MOHG; advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse; seek to sell or promote a participant’s products or services to MOHG or other participants.
4. MOHG reserves the right to take appropriate legal action or impose restriction or other sanctions against any participant that fails to comply with the above standards in Clause 3 above, including blocking such non-complying participant from future access to MOHG’s external social media accounts. MOHG reserves the right to remove any Content posted on MOHG’s external social media accounts, at our discretion and without explanation. These actions can be taken without notifying the offending participant.
5. Participant comments on MOHG’s external social media accounts do not reflect the opinions of MOHG, or the hotels or other properties managed by MOHG. MOHG will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the Content or accuracy of any Content posted by participants.
6. For online safety of all participants, please avoid clicking any third-party provided hyperlinks posted by other participants unless you independently determine that such source is trustworthy. MOHG does not endorse and will not accept responsibility for content or information found on any third-party hyperlinked websites.
7. All information shared by MOHG on MOHG’s external social media accounts that pertain to special MOHG offers or promotions are subject to terms and conditions as determined by MOHG in its sole and absolute discretion, and may be subject to change from time to time. In the case of any dispute, MOHG reserves the exclusive right to determine such dispute, and such determination will be final.
8. As Content posted to MOHG’s external social media accounts are uploaded by participants in real-time, any violations of these community guidelines may not be discovered or removed immediately. All Content will be monitored and action will be taken as appropriate given the applicable circumstances. If any participant discovers an issue in relation to any message or other violation of these community guidelines, please contact us immediately at MOHG-socialmedia@mohg.com.
9. Participants will also be subject to the terms of MOHG’s Privacy Policy found at http://www.mandarinoriental.com/privacy-policy/.
